Collin | Milton High School Class of 2011- Senior Rep

It is hard to believe it is that time again, but here it is. Time for Senior Reps. Meet my first photographed Senior Rep, Collin. There will be more to come in the next few weeks. Collin is a current year Junior at Alpharetta’s Milton High School. We met this weekend to have our mini session. I photographed his older sister two years ago and was delighted when Mom emailed me to photograph her son as well. Many of you may remember Rachel his older sister. I am not sure how you can forget her eyes. Simply stunning! I wondered if Collin’s would be the same and yep… they pretty much are completely stunning. I am definitely looking forward to warmer weather and our full session together.

A couple of Saturdays ago I met up with Elise for her Senior Portraits. Unlike today’s weather it was gorgeous. Sunny, blue skies and 75 degrees. I met Elise in our small downtown area which turned out to be at the same time as a Fall celebration. So needless to say we were not alone! On a positive note it forced me to find some new spots that I have not explored so that turned out to be a very cool thing. Elise is so quiet and polite. I think at first she might have been not too sure about the whole photography session thing but by the end she had loosened up and was showing her true potential in front of the camera. And did I mention she was tall? Again not sure what is going on with all the tall HS kids today but she was at least a foot taller than me. Now most of you that know me are probably snickering because you know that a foot taller than extra short is not uncommon. LOL! Don’t worry I brought my ladder along. I do so enjoy Senior sessions… and Elise didn’t disappoint. We had a great time and I have lots of images I really like. Here are just a few of them.

This one may be my favorite… I love how the rich, dark green colors frame her face.

I just adore little J. He was not so sure of me and my camera though. He looked at me like I am not taking my eyes off of you because I have no idea what you might do to me. LOL! He wasn’t upset though just gave me a lot of stares. Luckily though he came around and started smiling at me. He has the best smiles and the cutest little chin duck and turn away that was so flirty. Watch out mom… I see a heart-breaker in the making. We had a great session together and he was an absolute joy to photograph. Here are a few of my faves.

Yep you guessed it. The Holiday Rush! While I love seeing all my repeat clients this time of the year my schedule can make me a bit crazy as well. Every year I say I will not take on too much and I will learn to say “no” but it always seems that it doesn’t work out that way. I am currently scheduling Holiday sessions right now and have quite a few openings left in October (which by the way is the BEST month to take photographs) a few in September and only a couple in November. Because my youngest will be in school for a longer day this year 3 days a week I will be scheduling sessions during the week. I strongly encourage you to book those sessions if you can. I am trying desperately to make more time for my family on the weekends this fall. This includes evening sessions while we still have light so don’t forget we can always meet after school. I am also limiting myself to 2-3 sessions per week so that I can edit AND sleep through the month of November. My last Holiday Session will be held on November 8th and my Holiday Order Deadline will be November 15th. I will take the month of December off shooting except for newborns and Baby Planners.

Another change this season is pricing. I will have a print price increase starting on September 1st. If you have a session booked on or after that date please email for a complete list of prices. I am also going to institute a new policy on late ordering. I will allow 7 days once your gallery is posted to decide on your order, after that 7 days has passed the pricing will increase by 15%. I am opting for this rather than the re-posting fee I normally charge. Keeping my workflow moving right along after your session is crucial during this busy season. The minimum order charge will be $450 for a session and my session fees will be increasing a bit. Please email me for details on that. I will also be offering a special on one digital image. With a $500 order you will be able to purchase one digital image for $125.

If there is enough interest I will consider doing a Mini Session day. Designed to get a few images (10-15) for your Holiday gifts and cards. Please email me if you would be interested.

So don’t wait too long to schedule your session. Spaces are going fast! I also have quite a few newborns on the books for the Fall but remember if you are having a baby to call early so I can fit you into this busy time of the year.
