Sorry for the absence. I am still around… been very busy with LOTS of babies. So much to catch you all up on. Let’s start with this sweet little man. I met him back in July. Precious family. Precious baby. Love!

I just adore repeat clients and I have not seen this family in several years. They called to see if I could photograph their newest addition after she made her appearance. I was overjoyed to see them. Miss M has gotten so big but is still sporting those amazing blue eyes. And I think her sister will be joining her in the beautiful blue eyes department. I had so much fun with sweet baby A. She was a chunky, sleepy, lovable, beautiful baby. Thank you so much M family for bringing your two daughters to see me.

Meet Miss Elliott, Ellie for short. Isnt’ she divine? She came to visit me a short while ago and I was just taken by her calm demeanor and beauty. She was such a good sleeper and so easy going. She is the third child for this family and I often say that the third is usually so easy. Pretty much because they have to be. She was no exception to this rule. I had such a great time with her and her family. Ellie’s sweet snuggles and smiles were just what I needed. Thank you P family for bringing her to see me.

I was so excited to see C again. The last time I saw her she was a wee newborn and now sitting and smiling… so fun. She was a bit under the weather but still so adorable. And while she didn’t hardly shed a tear she did seem a bit sleepy. Even still we got some adorable shots of her and her mom brought one of her dresses and bonnets that she wore as a little girl. Oh my she was so cute in that.

Meet baby H… a true gift. Her mommy and daddy thought they would never have children and instead they were given this beautiful child. She was so peaceful and angelic for our session. Such a pretty face and such adoring parents. It made my heart smile to watch them with her. Especially dad… so worried and concerned about his daughter.

A well deserved break | Alpharetta Photographer

January has proven to be a well needed break for me. I always take off December but it never really feels like a break since the Holidays are quite busy otherwise. This month has proven to be busy for my family as well so being the slow season has worked out well. I do have clients waiting on clear, warmer weather though so the first pretty day we will be out there for sure. I am finishing my editing of my last sweet newborn so I thought I would share a few more of her with you. She was so fun to photograph and proofing her session was just as fun.

There also lots of changes happening within AGR Photography in the up coming months. I can’t speak to them right now but many things are on the horizon for this year and I am super excited about it. One thing I can speak about is an upcoming casting call. I will be looking for maternity and newborn models in the next couple of months for some projects I have in the works. I will release details at a later date but for those of you who know someone who is expecting in the next 2-3 months keep my casting call in mind. It will involve a free session for them with the possibility for more.

Today was the day… back to work and I loved every minute of this session. This sweet little chunk of love spent three hours here at my studio with her mommy and daddy. We had the best time chatting and loving on this little one. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful job where I get to cuddle with sweet tiny babies. It does this mommy’s heart good every time I get to hold one. I thought about keeping this one. Just check out her chunky cheeks and head full of hair… and she had the biggest blue eyes. So pretty. Welcome to the world baby girl.

Light and Color | Alpharetta Baby and Child Photographer

I am always amazed at the properties of light… I think before I was a photographer I saw it but didn’t really know what I was seeing. Now that I have trained my eyes over the past few years I see it so much differently now. The light in a given location can change so much depending on the season, the time of day, the humidity in the air, the clouds, ect. I find it so amazing how two sessions shot in similar locations have a completely different look and feel. This particular day was a beautiful fall day with very low humidity. I believe it was around high noon too. And if you talk to most photographers they will tell you that is not ideal for light. Harsh sun, squinty eyes, ect. I have found in GA we are lucky with all our tree cover if you find the right spot it doesn’t matter what time of day it is. This session turned out to have some of the prettiest colors… the sun was bright the light was clean and the subject was beyond adorable. The Fall colors reflecting all around us gave us beautiful warm backgrounds. So while I was editing this sneak peek it inspired me to talk a bit about that light. Look around you, pay attention to your light, see how it can beautifully set off someones eyes or skin tones. It is really fascinating when you start paying attention to it.

This little one is graduating baby planner and boy oh boy I am going to miss not seeing her every 4 months. She has been a joy to photograph from the very first time I met her at 10 days old. I just adore her and her mommy and daddy! I thought it would be fun to revisit some newborn shots. Look how tiny she was!

She is seriously one of the happiest babies around. Or should I say toddlers? She makes
my job VERY easy.

3 sleepy weeks old | Alpharetta Newborn Photographer

So most of you who read my blog know that I like my newborns young… 6-10 days preferably. Well when Miss E’s mom called me she was already 2 weeks old. So I knew she would be 3 before I could fit her in. I sort of kind of tried to talk her out of it for fear of baby acne, no sleep, and possibly a tough session. But mom insisted she was sleepy and would do great. So I agreed… who is to argue with a mom who REALLY wants shot of her little cutie. Well I tell you Mom and Baby E showed me!!!! This baby is probably one of my top 3 sleepiest babies EVER! She was 2 weeks old and little but still… she never stirred. She was so good and so sleepy and so drop dead gorgeous! Her black hair and little petite features blew me away. I don’t think I have ever seen such dark black hair. Simply breathtaking. So after all of my grunts and groans about her being older I learned a valuable lesson… never underestimate the sleepiness of an older baby. I adore her session and am so excited for mom to see these. Thank you mom and dad for being so flexible and for bringing your precious angel to see me.

And my first try at this pose… she went into it beautifully.

More twins!!! Yes, two more sweet baby girls. Oh they were precious. When I met them they were 2 weeks old and were such good girls for me. I finished this session in record time because they were totally, completely asleep and let me move them from one pose to the other. They just loved being curled up next to one another too. So sweet. I just adored their Mom, Dad and Aunts. I could have stayed there all day chatting. I felt like I had known them all my life. Love that! I can’t say enough about this session… I left and was totally walking on air the rest of the day. How many people can say their job makes them walk on air? Enjoy a glimpse of these sweet girls.

And I saved my favorite for last….
