18 months | Atlanta Child Photographer

So I don’t see too many 18 month olds and the ones I do see are usually doing their own thing. Not much into sitting and looking at the camera. Well this little sweetie was quite different. She hammed it up for me the whole session just about. We had a great time together laughing, singing, making animal noises and playing peek a boo. It was a super fun session and I am just thrilled with all the smiles.

Meet M! He is the happiest three year old around. Always smiling and looking for adventure. He is quick to hold my hand, give me hugs and bring me a flower. He loves playing ball, swinging and hugs from his mommy. He is all the things that make three year olds wonderful. And he makes you stop and think… man they grow up fast. I have a special relationship with M and his mommy. I have known them for years even before M was a thought in his mommy’s head. They are special people with special place in my heart always! And when mom told me that I was part of their inner circle as M ran up to grab my hand when we were walking back to the car I got a little teary. That is what makes my job so special… I get to develop relationships with these amazing people as well as capture memories. I love my job. And speaking of my job…. coming up soon a big announcement about AGR Photography so stay tuned.

This was the most fun we had all day. He was so adorable blowing the dandelions.

I am always amazed at the properties of light… I think before I was a photographer I saw it but didn’t really know what I was seeing. Now that I have trained my eyes over the past few years I see it so much differently now. The light in a given location can change so much depending on the season, the time of day, the humidity in the air, the clouds, ect. I find it so amazing how two sessions shot in similar locations have a completely different look and feel. This particular day was a beautiful fall day with very low humidity. I believe it was around high noon too. And if you talk to most photographers they will tell you that is not ideal for light. Harsh sun, squinty eyes, ect. I have found in GA we are lucky with all our tree cover if you find the right spot it doesn’t matter what time of day it is. This session turned out to have some of the prettiest colors… the sun was bright the light was clean and the subject was beyond adorable. The Fall colors reflecting all around us gave us beautiful warm backgrounds. So while I was editing this sneak peek it inspired me to talk a bit about that light. Look around you, pay attention to your light, see how it can beautifully set off someones eyes or skin tones. It is really fascinating when you start paying attention to it.

This little one is graduating baby planner and boy oh boy I am going to miss not seeing her every 4 months. She has been a joy to photograph from the very first time I met her at 10 days old. I just adore her and her mommy and daddy! I thought it would be fun to revisit some newborn shots. Look how tiny she was!

She is seriously one of the happiest babies around. Or should I say toddlers? She makes
my job VERY easy.

The day I met Miss C couldn’t have been a more beautiful, perfect Fall day. Her parents took me to a lovely park down the street from their house and it had this big gorgeous tree full of yellow leaves. I think I might have squealed. With all the bad weather this Fall we had rescheduled this session three times and last minute I emailed and said “can you meet tomorrow? The weather looks good.” Thankfully they were free. So on top of a beautiful day I met this amazing family. They were so awesome and this little girl is hard to describe in words. I really needed a video. She was so animated and full of personality. I don’t think I have ever photographed a 10 month old that was this entertaining. I had a hard time taking pictures of her because I was laughing so hard. She would smile and make the funniest faces and then she would cry and give you a little speech about what she didn’t like. Then she would laugh again. It was so fun. And she was seriously trying to talk. Like not one word, but full sentences. It was her own language but clear to me she knew what she was saying. And clear to all of us what she liked and didn’t like. For instance she took a liking to my sheepskin rug and we could hardly pry it out of her hands when I left. I thought I would have to give it to her. LOL! Oh I just loved her so. And on top of all that look how gorgeous she is. Thank you Mom and Dad for choosing me to capture your baby girl. She is a pure joy!

Could I love this family more? NO! If I had endless times I would tell you all the reasons I love them so much. I have been photographing their amazing children for 3 years now and I am blessed to have them as clients and also to call them friends. They inspire me in so many ways. Their little girl is now sitting, laughing, smiling, and being just plain cute. She has grown so much since I saw her as a tiny baby. I love to watch them turn into little people. I had the best time hanging out with them all and creating more images to add to their collection. Thank you Dayna for inviting me into your home again and for not clogging my email inbox with message about me being so late on this post. I know you are waiting. LOL!

It has been only a few months since I saw Miss B but she has grown so much. She still has beautifully dark curly hair and the sweetest brown eyes though. Only this time she is animated and laughing at her mother’s silly antics. I love this age so much. It is definitely one of the best ages for portraits. They are just so adorable and full of personality and still not moving fast enough to find you boring. LOL! I met the V family early last Saturday morning. I normally shoot at this location in the evening so it was fun to see the light totally different in my favorite spots. I even found some new favorite spots. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

More twins!!! Yes, two more sweet baby girls. Oh they were precious. When I met them they were 2 weeks old and were such good girls for me. I finished this session in record time because they were totally, completely asleep and let me move them from one pose to the other. They just loved being curled up next to one another too. So sweet. I just adored their Mom, Dad and Aunts. I could have stayed there all day chatting. I felt like I had known them all my life. Love that! I can’t say enough about this session… I left and was totally walking on air the rest of the day. How many people can say their job makes them walk on air? Enjoy a glimpse of these sweet girls.

And I saved my favorite for last….

Miss E turns 7 months | Roswell Baby Photographer

I have not seen Miss E since her newborn session and my oh my how she has grown. She was such a sweet girl. So happy and agreeable with everything we did. I have so much fun with this age. So all of you blog readers don’t miss this age to photograph. They love to interact with me and smile and just be generally cute. If they are not crawling yet it is even better. Thank you so much C and S for bringing your little girl out to meet me. She was a joy to work with! Your session will be out to you soon.

A fave for sure. This wall was so awesome.

I just adore little J. He was not so sure of me and my camera though. He looked at me like I am not taking my eyes off of you because I have no idea what you might do to me. LOL! He wasn’t upset though just gave me a lot of stares. Luckily though he came around and started smiling at me. He has the best smiles and the cutest little chin duck and turn away that was so flirty. Watch out mom… I see a heart-breaker in the making. We had a great session together and he was an absolute joy to photograph. Here are a few of my faves.

I have been a busy bee… trying to get caught up on work between a head cold, a birthday party and quite a few sessions. I wanted to share with all my blog readers two very special recent sessions. Amy first came to me when her first born little man was turning a year old. We met, had a great time and captured some great shots of Mr. B. Well when she heard about my casting call for maternity models she contacted me. I knew she was pregnant and I knew she was close to being due but I also KNEW she would make a fabulous model. She is just a gorgeous girl, inside and out so we arranged something ASAP. I am so happy we did that. We met last Tuesday on a cloudy, dreary day for her maternity session. I had a great time with her and got to really stretch my creative wings with some fun, out of the box maternity. The results were exactly what I had envisioned… a beautiful girl in a gorgeous setting with a romantic serene feel. See for yourself.

The really cool thing about this session is Baby D was born the very next day. A wee bit early and nice and small. I think he was right at 6 lbs. Well today Amy brought her new little man back to see me. And we got spend some quailty time toghether. He was a darling little guy for us. Hardly a peep out of him and he sleep so soundly. And the few moments he was awake he was just peaceful and quite. I tell ya, there is nothing like a newborn baby. The are like art in real life. I never stopped being amazed by their little features, wrinkles, and adorable squeaks and peeps. So I wanted share a bit of Baby D!
