Wow what a week. It is always a whirlwind around here during the Thanksgiving week as it is MY Holiday to host. The whole family comes to our house for Thanksgiving dinner and we do all the cooking (with a bit of help from the parents and in-laws). We have been doing this since we got married, so this is our 10th year. I really enjoy having this tradition for my kids. And the older ones, especially Garrett, are really getting it. I wanted them to experience Thanksgiving as I did… as a southerner. That means Turkey, giblet grave (yes people- made with the giblets and neck), cornbread dressing, cranberries (I make mine from scratch-yum- no can shaped red goo), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, deviled eggs (brought by Gram), and Watergate salad (another of Gram’s dishes- cool whip, pistachio pudding, pineapples and marshmallows- what could be better). So after 10 years we have the system all worked out. And this year went wonderfully. Good food, good company, and good times. ![]()
Unfortunately Saturday morning disaster struck… yes the dreaded stomach virus! YUCK! It hit my oldest at 4 am and then Scott by daybreak. Both of them were completely pitiful all day. Then today… Lydia. But hers seems to be a much lighter version. So now we wait to see if Ella and I get it. Ah the waiting. ![]()
So as I sat here all weekend, which is pretty much all I did, I decided to start my shopping online. I found some really cool sites and good deals. So I thought I would share some with you guys.
For my green friends
They have lots of cool recycled gifts including recycled gift paper and these cool lunch bags.

This is my new favorite site.
So many cool things here, most of them made from something recycled. I have quite a wish list here. And this sweet little necklace is on it. (Hint Hint Scott) It is made from recycled glass… so cool.

Here you find Eco living with STYLE!
I love this store. I have a few things from here already one is this cute little number

It holds all our incoming mail in style. LOL! They have lots of cool things so take some time look through their site.
AH! My most favorite pair of shoes. These things are like HEAVEN on your feet. They keep your feet toasty and warm but not sweaty. The description on them actually says good for temps from 30 below to 80 degrees. I totally believe it. They are amazing. Not exactly pretty, nor cheap, but you won’t care once you wear them for a day. I bought myself a little early “Merry Christmas” this weekend and purchased these babies (I currently have a pair of chocolate short classics). I am contemplating buying Ella some… she would love them! She loves boots. I just own the classic style but Ugg has lots of other styles now. Totally worth every penny.

Another recent love of mine… I love jeans. And these are yummy!

I also bought me one other thing from my good friends at Dell.
DELL ULTRASHARP 2408WFP
24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor

|
The 24-inch display gives you the space you need to visualize your entire creation. With about 30% more on-screen real estate than a Dell 20-inch wide screen monitor display, you can view two complete pages side-by-side and edit text without toggling or squinting. Get amazing 1920 x 1200 resolution for stunning detail, fast 6 millisecond (grey to grey) response time for fluid motion, and high 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
Mind you this is not my first 24 inch monitor but I will soon be running dual 24 inch monitors. WOW! Now that is exciting. LOL! I might need sunglasses with these two puppies running in my dark office.
Love their children’s clothes. So very stylish. Some of you may remember a super stylish 2 year old that I had a session with a month or so ago wearing this. ![]()

LOVE this catalog. They have the coolest workout wear as well as casual wear and swimsuits. These are on my list as well. Not that I do much Yoga but I do a good bit of Pilates. ![]()

And for some more fun…
This a wonderful place to sign up for one of those pesky elves to come and spy on the kids. They are becoming all the craze!
Along with purchasing one for your family you can also sponsor an Elf for a child who is in the Hospital here in Atlanta battling cancer this Holiday Season. Elves for Catie was started last year in memory of Jenny and Tre’s beautiful daughter Catie who lost her battle to cancer in January of 07. I have followed their story for a while now and they use this program as a fundraiser for CURE Childhood Cancer. So by buying an elf to sponsor you are making some struggling child’s day a bit brighter. And for every elf you buy (for yourself or to donate) remember to check the boxes, fundraiser and CURE Childhood Cancer, with every checked box $5 goes to the cause. You can read all about Catie and her family at their site HERE. Only a few short days after Catie’s death Jenny gave birth to their second beautiful baby girl and I am happy to say is now expecting a boy. So you can read all about Izzy and her soon to be brother as well as Catie here.
I am happy to say that we will have a very special Reindeer Boy Elf visiting us this year and I also sponsored one for the Hospital. So if you are looking for something to make you feel all warm and fuzzy about there ya go.
So there are a few of the interesting sites I found. I hope you guys enjoy looking through the sites as much as I did.
