Back around Christmas I ran a contest here on the blog. I decided to pick not one but two winners and a short while ago I met up with one of the winners. A friend of mine had nominated Laura for the “Giving is Awesome” contest. Once I read her story I knew I had to meet this amazing woman. After years of battling breast cancer her spirit is strong and her fight is still on. I love how devoted she is to her family and how her positive attitude spills out in her words on her blog. After meeting this family in person I am even more amazed at their strength and love for each other. Laura just loves her kids and you can see it all over her face and in her eyes in these shots. I approached this session very differently than my normal portrait sessions. I wanted this to be about them and their family. We met at their home which was awesome. I loved seeing all the beautiful prints she had scattered around. Such evidence of a family who loves life. So I wanted you to meet them… Laura, Sammy, sweet Gavin and Travis. Truly an inspiration to us all.
