He kind of looks like he doesn’t want anything to do with me right?  Well after a few games,
some running, complete with brother leaping on my back a few times he was all smiles.

Isn’t he the cutest?  And then big brother who is equally as cute and so funny.

I had the best time with you boys… thank you mom for bringing them to see me and we will see you in a few weeks.  :)

]]> http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/settled-roswell-and-marietta-newborn-photography/feed/ 3 Strong | Roswell Newborn Photographer http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/strong-roswell-newborn-photographer/ http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/strong-roswell-newborn-photographer/#comments Thu, 26 Aug 2010 10:00:23 +0000 admin http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/?p=3202 Strong is not always a word I use to describe a newborn but this little guy was definitely that.  He was born 2 months early and by the time I saw him had just passed his due date.  He has endured a lot in his short, but powerful life.  He had to have surgery about a month ago for some digestive issues (totally not related to being early) but is doing wonderfully now!  So it was amazing to me to see just how strong he was… I mean he does have about 2 months more on most of the newborns I photography.  But since he was only just pasted his due date he was still sleepy and pretty curly.  He was really really great for us and I was so happy that mom got these images that she so desired of her little miracle.  Isn’t he breathtaking… something about a baby with red hair.  And his beautiful skin on top of that… well let’s just say he is QUITE photogenic.  :)   Thank you Mom and Dad for sharing your sweet man with me.  I had a great time with all three of you.

]]> http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/content-roswell-newborn-photographer/feed/ 1 She… turned 7 | Alpharetta Child Photographer http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/she-turned-7-alpharetta-child-photographer/ http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/she-turned-7-alpharetta-child-photographer/#comments Tue, 10 Aug 2010 10:00:22 +0000 admin http://www.alisharobertson.com/blog/?p=3173 How is possible that my sweet first born daughter is already 7!  Getting big girl teeth, having opinions about her hair, loving spending time with her friends (sometimes more than mom {{sniff}}) and getting taller by the second.  She is probably the sweetest girl I have ever met… and yes I am biased but she has the biggest caring heart I have ever known.  She is always my voice of reason, the one who recognizes when I am upset and tries to make my life easier however she can.  I adore her love of animals, insects and anything alive.  It is such a beautiful thing.  She seems so in touch with her surroundings, the world, all of it.  She told me on the way home from our photo session that she wanted to be a vet… it made my heart happy.  It was what I wanted to be for the majority of my life.  And for certain reasons it didn’t happen and I gave up that dream… I hope she never gives up on her dreams and always knows that she can be anything and anybody she wants.  Love you Ella… to the moon and back.

And a few from her birthday party… a camping sleepover party. We had the best time.

The table was set with bugs and woodland creatures.  My girl may be 7 but she still loves stuffed animals.
Could care less about princesses though.

We had one candle that was one of those magic ones that won’t stay out… it was a huge hit.  :)

If you answered yes to any of these questions then this blog post is for you…

Last Spring I offered my first Fuzzy to Focused classes and they were a huge hit.  All the moms who attended and I had a great time getting to know their cameras.  Since I had such a great response and ended up with a waiting list to boot I thought that I would offer them again this Fall.  So if you are tired of  being on P mode on your camera, want to learn more about how to work your camera, or just want better shots of your kids this is a great class for you.

What the class will include

  • basic knowledge of your Digital SLR camera (so you must own one)
  • general overview of aperture, shutter speeds, and ISO and a bit on the histogram
  • tips on photographing your child
  • some real time shooting outside to get the feel of your camera
  • overview of file management and storage of your personal images
  • homework assignments
  • a work book for you to take home

What the class will not include

  • editing (this could possibly be a whole other class)
  • how to start a photography business (I do offer Professional Photography Mentoring but you must live outside of Georgia)

What you will need for the class

  • a Digital SLR camera and lens ( I currently shoot Canon but have used Nikon as well- These are the two brands I recommend)
  • your owner’s manual
  • an editing software program of some sort to use at home for homework (Photoshop Elements is a great one)
  • a fully charged battery
  • pen and paper to take notes

The class will be 4 hours in length and will be held at my studio in Roswell.  Water and snacks/ lunch will be served.
The cost is $200 and the class is limited to 8.  I want this to be personal and I want you to be involved.  If I have enough interested I will certainly schedule another class.

Here are some dates I am considering… but these are flexible so if you would like another date let me know.

September 29th 10 am – 2 pm
October 2nd, 1pm-5pm

Please note that this class is intended for moms (or dads) who want to learn more about their camera and how to take better images of their children.  If you have any interest in becoming a professional photographer this is not the class for you.
